Harry Styles reportedly has “no loyalty” to his former One Direction bandmates, according to a new report from Daily Mail.
Styles, 31, reemerged from his music hiatus to announce a New York City residency and drop his latest song, “Aperture,” on Thursday, January 22 — just one day before former bandmate Louis Tomlinson’s solo album dropped.
“They are not friends,” a source told Daily Mail on Wednesday, January 28. “Yes, they will forever be bonded by the band, and all that happened, but that is in the past.”

The insider continued, “It’s safe to say this whole song release has ped Louis off.”
Tomlinson, 34, took to social media on January 20 — the day the “Watermelon Sugar” singer teased his new music — begging fans for help to “cut through the noise.”
“Time to give this record the moment it deserves!” he tweeted.
Tomlinson, who first announced his latest album back in September, opened up about his former bandmates and their solo careers in a recent interview with Billboard, telling the outlet, “I always knew Harry was going to go on to do what he’s done.”

“I’m sure he’s superseded his own expectations in the way that he’s taken over the world, but we knew he’s got everything it takes to be a great artist,” he added in the interview, which was published January 21.
According to Daily Mail, there has always been a bit of competition between Styles, Tomlinson, Niall Horan, Zayn Malik and the late Liam Payne.
“The last thing [Tomlinson] wanted was to compete with Harry on his big day,” the source told Daily Mail. “It feels like history repeating itself.”
