It’s another blow for Sydney Sweeney. First the Euphoria star caught flak for what some claimed was a racist American Eagle ad. Then viewers of the HBO show condemned her beyond-racy scenes.
Now EW is reporting that the 28-year-old’s three-minute cameo in the hotly anticipated sequel The Devil Wears Prada 2 wound up on the cutting room floor.
EW’s source told the mag it was a “creative decision” to drop the scene and that the movie’s team was “grateful” for her participation. But an insider tells Star those around Sydney are blaming “Hollywood wokesters” who are intent on “causing her trouble and tripping her up” because of her conservative politics. Others are saying it has nothing to do with her political bent. “They’re attributing it to old-fashioned jealousy,” says the insider.
