Aimee Lou Wood didn’t seem all that impressed with Sydney Sweeney’s response to the scandal surrounding her controversial American Eagle denim ad.
According to the Daily Mail, the White Lotus star, 31, left a nauseated emoji under a clip from Sweeney’s GQ interview, posted on Instagram by photographer Misan Harriman on Wednesday, November 5.
In the interview, the Euphoria star, 28, was asked if she was surprised by the reaction to the campaign, which critics accused of promoting eugenics due to its play on the words “jeans” and “genes.” Some even likened it to Nazi propaganda.

“I did a jean ad,” Sweeney said, somewhat incredulously. “I mean, the reaction definitely was a surprise, but it was — I, I, I love jeans. All I wear are jeans. I’m literally in jeans and a t-shirt like every day of my life.”
The actress was also asked about President Donald Trump calling the “Great Jeans” campaign “the ‘HOTTEST’ ad out there” in an August 4 Truth Social post.
“It was pretty surreal,” she smiled.
The video elicited a “sigh” from Harriman, 47, who went on to slam Sweeney’s response to backlash in the caption, which also earned a like from Wood.

“Presuming that you are not a white supremacist, at least say how horrified you were by how this campaign was amplified and celebrated by unrepentant racists who believe in eugenics,” he urged. “At least recognize the harm your jeans campaign has caused black folk, the undertone of the campaign is that your genetics are superior to others.”
“The play on words is clear as day and racists LOVED it!” Harriman continued. “So, presuming you didn’t know when you shot it, you certainly do now, and it matters.”
