Deck the halls! London’s Westminster Abbey was filled with Christmas cheer — and a crowd of 1,600 — for Princess Kate’s annual Together at Christmas carol concert Dec. 5. Wearing a long green coat, the 43-year-old greeted guests at the medieval Abbey, including Eugene Levy, who recently interviewed her husband, Prince William, also 43, on his The Reluctant Traveler show. Along with celebs like Kate Winslet and Chiwetel Ejiofor — who read ’Twas the Night Before Christmas — the crowd included everyday heroes such as 9-year-old Sophia Turner, who sells her artwork to raise money for food banks, and 102-year-old D-Day veteran Jack Mortimer.

The future king and queen’s three children, George, 12, Charlotte, 10, and Louis, 7, were also on hand for the festivities, which included a rendition of “I Saw Three Ships” by a Cornish sea shanty group, Katie Melua singing “White Christmas” and Zak Abel crooning “Silent Night.” The performance ended with the Abbey choir singing traditional carols, finishing up with “Hark! The Herald Angels Sing.” Guests were treated to hot cocoa before heading home.

In a post after the concert, which will air in the U.K. Christmas Eve, Kate called it “a wonderful evening” filled with “some of the most inspiring people making a difference in the lives of others.”
