Ed Kelce Says He’s ‘Super Excited’ for Travis and Taylor Swift’s Wedding, Calls Her a ‘Sweetheart’

The Kelce family is seemingly gearing up for Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift‘s big day.

On Wednesday, June 24, the 36-year-old Kansas City Chiefs tight end’s dad, Ed Kelce, spoke to FOX 29 Philadelphia about the couple’s upcoming nuptials, while in Sea City Isle, New Jersey, for his older son Jason Kelce‘s annual Team 62 Fundraiser.

“I am super excited,” he gushed. “She is a sweetheart that is truly the girl next door, just like Kylie Kelce,” Ed added, referring to Jason’s wife.

As for the retired Philadelphia Eagles player, 38, he told reporters he’s “very excited” for Travis, according to a X clip.

“I’m very happy for both of them,” he noted. “I’m looking forward to celebrating with them. It’s a good year right now.”

When asked whether he was invited to the wedding, Jason joked “I plead the fifth.”

As Star previously reported, the athlete and the 36-year-old pop star — who announced their engagement in August — are planning to wed at Madison Square Garden over the Fourth of July weekend, per a report by In Touch.

New York City Mayor Zohran Mamadani seemed to confirm Travis and Swift’s wedding festivities would take place in the Big Apple while talking to the press earlier this month about safety surrounding the FIFA World Cup.

“We are the biggest city in the country. We are used to big events, and we are incredibly excited for this one,” Mamdani, 34, stated. “We know it coincides with the Knicks’ finals run. We know it coincides with July 4, America 250, Taylor Swift’s wedding, all happening at the same time, and we are so excited to welcome the world here.”

Additionally, The New York Times reported on Wednesday, June 24, that sources said the wedding would be a multiday affair.

“On July 2, the plans call for an intimate gathering of about 100 people at the Garden,” the publication reported. “The next day on July 3, about 1,000 guests would gather there for a splashier celebration, with possible stage appearances.”
