Summer is supposed to be fun and West Wilson knew it would not be if he returned for Summer House season 11.
Wilson, 31, broke his silence on his exit from the Bravo reality show when he appeared on The Broadcast Boys‘ breakdown of the Summer House scandal.
“I wanted to tell it on my own but that [exit rumor] is true,” the Missouri native said on Wednesday, June 24. “In [Bravo’s] defense, I don’t think it would have been a fun summer.”
As Star previously reported, the news that Wilson wouldn’t be returning to Summer House broke earlier this month. A source told TMZ that he was not asked to return, but that doesn’t rule out a potential cameo from him in future seasons.
“Our connection grew out of a genuine, longstanding friendship, which made it especially important for us to approach this with care,” the pair wrote in a joint statement shared at the time, per In Touch.
“As our feelings evolved, we wanted to take time to understand exactly what we were feeling,” they continued. “We also recognize that this has had an impact beyond just us and never wanted our actions to cause any hurt or be perceived as careless. We truly appreciate the understanding and respect as we navigate this.”
Wilson previously dated Ciara Miller, Batula’s former best friend, and the news of his and Batula’s relationship rocked the entire Summer House cast.
