The Princess of Wales, 43, stepped in front of the podium in London on Tuesday, November 18 at The Future Workforce Summit — hosted by the The Royal Foundation Business Taskforce for Early Childhood — and spoke about policies that benefit children under age 5.
“My passion and the work of The Centre for Early Childhood stems from one essential truth; that the love we feel in our earliest years fundamentally shapes who we become and how we thrive as adults,” Kate said in her speech, according to a video posted on TikTok.
“Love is the first and most essential bond. But it is also the invisible thread, woven with time, attention and tenderness, through consistent, nurturing relationships which creates the grounded and meaningful environments around a child,” Kate added. “It is this texture, the weave of love, which forms a child’s emotional world and becomes the foundation, the very fabric of resilience and belonging.”
Her Royal Highness has not made an official speech since sharing her cancer battle in March 2024. Kate is currently in remission, as she shared in a January 2025 social media post.

Kate and husband Prince William, 43, have been open about the diagnosis with their children Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, 7.
“Every family has its own difficulties and its own challenges and I think it’s very individual and sort of moment-dependent as to how you deal with those problems,” William told TV host Luciano Huck while visiting Brazil on Sunday, November 9.
William added, “We choose to communicate a lot more with our children — now, that has its good things and its bad things. Sometimes you feel you’re oversharing with the children when you probably shouldn’t.”
