Prince Harry isn’t receiving the warm welcome he may have hoped for from some British rugby fans.
The 42-year-old Duke of Sussex was reportedly devastated to learn that he had been booed during the Leicester versus Gloucester match on Friday, October 9.
During the match, cameras unexpectedly displayed Harry’s face on the stadium’s giant screen, prompting some spectators to boo.
According to an October 11 report by Rob Shuter’s Naughty But Nice Substack, Harry was unaware of the crowd’s reaction, which allegedly left him feeling humiliated and brought him to tears.
“Harry didn’t hear the boos. He was enjoying the match and genuinely believed everyone was happy to see him,” the source told the outlet. “It wasn’t until afterward, that the reality hit. He was absolutely crushed.”

Harry is reportedly hoping to rebuild his relationship with his homeland, making the less-than-welcoming reaction particularly painful for him.
“Harry genuinely believes the British people still love him,” the insider added. “He knows his relationship with his family is damaged, but he never imagined British people would turn against him. Finding out they were booing was devastating.”
The source also claimed that Harry never expected such a strong negative reaction from the crowd, adding that the public’s apparent hostility has been difficult for him to handle.
“He can handle criticism from the palace. What he cannot handle is feeling rejected by his own country,” the insider added. “He was fighting back tears. Britain is still home to him.”

Meanwhile, Page Six reported on Friday, October 9, that Harry and wife Meghan Markle will not be spending Christmas with the royal family this year.
Instead, the couple will reportedly return to their Montecito, California, home for the holidays with their two children, Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5. Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland, is also expected to join them for Christmas.
