Prince Harry and Meghan Markle ‘Educating’ Archie and Lilibet On Their Royal ‘Roots’ Ahead of UK Trip

Meghan Markle has been putting a lot of effort into preparing her and Prince Harry‘s children Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5, for their upcoming trip to the U.K., a source tells Star.

“She and Harry have been slowly educating them about their roots and that side of their family,” says the source. “It’s been an emotional process at times for Harry because it reminds him of all they’ve missed out on, but of course he’s careful not to let the children see that.”

Royal commentator Amanda Matta recently told Page Six that “there is no indication” Meghan, 44, and Harry’s children will get to spend time with their cousins Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 11, and Prince Louis, 8, on this trip given his estrangement from Prince William.

“The last thing they want is for [the kids] to be aware of any tension,” the source tells Star. “They want this to be a happy visit.”

It still could be.

According to Page Six, Harry, 41, hopes to use this visit to reconnect with King Charles III, who has barely spent any time with his grandchildren over the years.

Meghan, however, “has absolutely no doubt they’re going to hit it out of the park,” Star‘s source reveals. “She thinks people will be blown away by [Archie and Lilibet] because they’re both so adorable and genuinely sweet-natured.”

Most of all though, “Meghan wants them to feel genuinely welcomed and at ease,” says the source, “so it’s about striking that balance of preparing them so they understand what’s expected of them while still allowing them to simply be children and enjoy the experience.”
