Prince Harry Will Visit Princess Diana’s Grave With Archie and Lilibet During UK Visit

Prince Harry plans to visit his mother Princess Diana‘s resting place with his children, Archie and Lilibet, during his upcoming U.K. visit.

“Harry still carries the loss of his mother every day,” a source told Rob Shuter for his Naughty But Nice Substack on Wednesday, June 24. “The tragedy is that his children will never know her. This is about helping Archie and Lilibet feel connected to a grandmother who would have adored them.”

The insider added, “This isn’t about headlines for Harry. It’s about making sure his children know the woman he still misses every day.”

The Duke of Sussex, 41, and wife Meghan Markle‘s visit to the U.K. will mark the first time their son, 7, and daughter, 5, return to his home country since 2022 when they attended Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral.

“The concern has never been Harry’s motives,” a separate source told Shuter. “People understand why he wants to do this. The concern is whether a deeply personal family moment stays private — or eventually becomes part of the public narrative.”

Some critics of the Suits alum, 44, claim that she has used Diana as “part of the brand.”

“There are people in royal circles who worry every Diana story turns into emotional leverage that makes criticism of Meghan almost impossible,” another source noted.

Harry lost his mother in August 1997 after a fatal car accident while fleeing paparazzi in Paris. While he and Markle ultimately stepped down as senior working members of the royal family in 2020, Harry revealed that the idea originally came about following Diana’s death.

“After my mum died, before my 13th birthday, I didn’t want this job,” the father of two said during his tour of Australia in April, according to The Telegraph. “I didn’t want this role. Whatever it is, wherever this is headed, I don’t like it, it killed my mum.”
