Prince Harry could be taking the first steps toward bringing his children to meet with their grandfather, King Charles III.
On Wednesday, September 10, the father-son duo spent 54 minutes together during their first meeting in 19 months.
“It’s become clear that Harry now regrets some of his actions,” a royal insider told Daily Mail in a story published on Thursday, September 11. “The King wants to be a grandfather to his grandchildren so that’s an important pull.”

Charles last saw Archie and Lilibet — now 6 and 3 years old respectively — during Queen Elizabeth‘s Platinum Jubilee in June 2022. Per the outlet, the King has only met Lilibet once and Archie just a handful of times.
“There are all sorts of obstacles to that happening again because of Harry’s insistence that they have guaranteed armed police protection,” adds the royal insider. “But maybe there is a way of getting them over to Balmoral or Sandringham next year or another royal residence where they are within the security perimeter.”
Whether Meghan Markle will join remains unclear. The former Suits actress hasn’t returned to the UK since the Queen’s death in September 2022.
The Daily Mail also reported that Harry promised his father he wouldn’t brief the press about their conversation. “This is an important first step towards rebuilding their father-and-son relationship,” the insider told the outlet.
So far, Harry is keeping his word: When asked about Charles after the meeting, he simply said, “Yes he’s great, thank you,” People reported.
