Diet Scare! Expert Claims Mariah Carey’s Weight Loss Plan May Cause Major Problems — Exclusive

Notorious diva Mariah Carey has been showing off her recent weight loss all over town, but dietary expert Erin Palinski — author of Belly Fat Diet For Dummies — who has not treated the star, reveals that her extreme dieting could be a potential health hazard!

As Star readers know, MiMi's been shredding for her wedding, and has already lost a whopping 55lbs in the process. But despite her weight loss success, experts claim the "Halo" singer's extreme dieting is setting her up for failure in the long run.  

"The 'Bleak Diet' appears to be overly restrictive limiting one to mostly unflavored fish and soups," Erin explains. "Consuming such a limited diet long term can lead to nutrient deficiencies, boredom, and most likely burnout which can have one converting back to old habits leading to weight regain."  

And though adding fish into one's diet is considered a healthy weight reduction strategy, Erin remains skeptical about some of the extreme dietary restrictions the 45-year-old's diet demands. "It needs to be balanced along with a source of whole grains, plant based fats, and a variety of fruits and vegetables for optimal health," she stated.  

Erin also added that, "Any diet where entire food groups are eliminated is setting oneself up for a cycle of 'yo-yo' crash dieting instead of a healthy lifestyle that will promote long term weight management."  

"Bottom line: this is not a dietary strategy I would stand behind for significant long term weight reduction," she concluded.
