has given birth to her third child, a boy with husband Prince William
at 11:01a.m on Monday. The Duchess of Cambridge was admitted to St. Mary’s Hospital in London.
Kensington Palace released a statement shortly after the birth announcing that the new prince has arrived.
“Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge was safely delivered of a son at 1101hrs. The baby weighs 8lbs 7oz. The Duke of Cambridge was present for the birth. Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well,” Kensington Palace tweeted.
“Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge was admitted to St. Mary’s Hospital, Paddington, London earlier this morning in the early stages of labour,”Kensington Palace added.
The Duchess was said to have travelled by car from Kensington Palace to the Lindo Wing at St. Mary’s Hospital with The Duke of Cambridge. Fans of the Royal family have already begun to set up camp outside of the Lindo Wing in hopes that Kate and William will give the public a first glimpse of their son.
The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall, Prince Harry and members of both families have said to be, “informed and are delighted with the news."
The baby’s name has not yet been released.
