Dog The Bounty Hunter is opening up about a health crisis that sent him to the hospital last weekend. Dog, whose real name is Duane Chapman, experienced chest pain in his Colorado home. The 66-year-old was hospitalized as they ran tests to see if he had a heart attack.
“It feels much better now,” Dog admitted to Colorado station FOX31 and Channel 2 on Wednesday, September 18. “And I’m going through some psychological things right now too, so that doesn’t help,” he confessed.
As Star readers know, Dog’s wife Beth Chapman passed away in June after a harrowing cancer battle.
“I think, basically, I had a broken heart,” he explained of his heart incident. “And of course, it’s going to heal.”
Dog told the station that, before heading to the hospital, he felt like he couldn’t breathe. “It was like I had ran a 3- or 4-mile run,” he revealed. At the time of the interview, he didn’t have a diagnosis, though he’d been released from the hospital. He was set to have more tests on Thursday and Friday.

“There’s something haywire or it’s psychological. I don’t know. I guess things happen like that. I’ve never … I don’t do drugs,” he said in the interview.
