Palace Aides Warn King Charles That Making Peace With Prince Harry Is a ‘Colossal Mistake’ (Exclusive)

Prince Harry may be ready to forgive his father, but he hasn’t forgotten his grudge against royal courtiers — and it’s jeopardizing their chance at reconciliation, a source tells Star.

King Charles III, 76, “has really put his neck on the line to give peace a chance, which is all well and good and nobody doubts he’s trying to put the past behind in order to focus on positivity and forgiveness,” says the source.

“But Charles is running into a lot of resistance, not just from Prince William and Queen Camilla but pretty much throughout the Firm,” adds the source.

Palace aides — like the ones Harry described as “The Bee,” “The Fly,” and “The Wasp” in his memoir, Spare — “think his Majesty is making a colossal mistake, that Harry is a loose cannon and it’ll explode in the Palace’s face at some stage or other.”

The Duke of Sussex, 41, “hasn’t helped his cause” by issuing a rare statement disputing a report from The Sun which was published on Friday, September 26 that described his 53-minute reunion with his father in September as “distinctly formal.”

“The quotes attributed to [Harry] are pure invention fed, one can only assume, by sources intent on sabotaging any reconciliation between father and son,” the prince’s spokesperson said in a statement to People on Saturday, September 27.

“His angry words have made them even more determined to put a wrench in his plans and talk sense into the King before it’s too late,” says the source.
