Megan Fox ‘Stuck’ Coparenting With ‘Unpredictable’ Ex Machine Gun Kelly As She Eyes Career Comeback

Megan Fox is looking forward to a potential Hollywood comeback, according to a source, but she’s finding it difficult to move on with her life following her split from Machine Gun Kelly.

A longtime friend of the Transformers star, 39, exclusively tells Star that while it can be “tempting to pigeonhole” Fox as a “drama queen” who struggled to keep a “stable relationship,” the real issue is that she’s chosen to give MGK, 35, “too many chances.”

Despite their breakup being confirmed by TMZ weeks after announcing they were expecting their first child together, following the birth of four-month daughter Saga Blade, they’ve been spotted out and about together.

“Because of their co-parenting arrangement, she’s stuck with this guy,” the source says, “and he’s going to be in her life for the foreseeable future.”

How the Jennifer’s Body actress “manages that without getting sucked into” the singer’s “weirdness” will determine “how happy she’s going to be going forward,” the source explains.

“She needs sympathy and serenity now, not chaos, and I’m not sure that MGK has the maturity or the good sense to give Megan even an ounce of the peace-of-mind she’s looking for,” continues the source of the on-again, off-again exes.

One problem for Fox is that she’s “never really had a group of girlfriends who can act as a sounding board and give her the advice she desperately needs,” the source notes, suggesting that their guidance would likely be to keep MGK “at a distance” and focus more on her “home life and career.”

As a mom of four – she also shares Noah, 12, Bodhi, 11, and Journey, 8, with ex Brian Austin Green – with “family commitments,” it would be difficult for her leave home to do a television show, so she’ll have to “bank on movie roles that can be shot relatively quickly,” the source says.

“The ongoing mess of dealing with MGK and his unpredictable behavior gets in the way of everything she’s trying to do,” the source surmises. “She’s never going to be able to fix his immaturity and impulsiveness, no matter how hard she tries.”

As for the “forget me too” singer, the source claims he’ll never “truly understand” Fox’s point-of-view as a “working mother in show business.”

“He’s dragging her down to his level, and everybody who knows her can see that,” the source adds. “The question is, why can’t Megan?”

Despite the former couple’s ups and downs, they share a deep love for their daughter. They announced the child’s birth in a joint statement on Instagram, calling her their “celestial seed.” As Star previously reported, nearly three months later, MGK — who is also dad to daughter Casie Colson Baker, 16, from a previous relationship — took to Instagram and thanked Fox for giving him “the ultimate gift” on June 17.

Earlier this month, MGK and Fox sparked rumors of rekindled romance when they were spotted with Saga on a family getaway to Costa Rica. However, the pair has not confirmed if they are back together or simply coparenting on their travels.
