If and when King Charles III comes to the United States for a potential state visit with President Donald Trump, he shouldn’t expect a luxurious loo.
Multiple reports have stated that the 77-year-old monarch and his wife, Queen Camilla, 78, are expected to travel to the U.S. in April — coinciding with America’s 250th independence anniversary — for a potential state visit with the president, 79.
However, the Apprentice alum is currently having work done at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, including the addition of the 90,000-square-foot ballroom — which replaces the previously demolished East Wing.

A Thursday, January 8, report in The Telegraph (via People) claimed that major occasions, like state dinners, at the White House are currently being hosted on the South Lawn, with outdoor restrooms nearby so guests don’t have to make the trek back inside.
White House staff secretary Will Scharf addressed the royal family’s potential visit at a National Capital Planning Commission meeting held Thursday, according to the publication.
“I think it’s notable that when the President of the United States of America flies to the United Kingdom, he’s hosted at Windsor Castle,” Scharff said, the U.K.’s Daily Express also reported.

“And when the King of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland comes to the United States, more likely than not, he will be hosted in a tent on the South Lawn with porta-potties,” Scharff added. “That, to me, is not a good look for the United States of America.”
A royal family trip to the United States has yet to be officially confirmed.
Trump and his wife, First Lady Melania Trump, saw the royals last year when they visited Charles, Camilla, Prince William and Princess Kate during the first family’s second state visit to the U.K. in September.
