Tiger Woods Focusing on Girlfriend Vanessa Trump’s ‘Needs and Issues’ Amid Her Cancer Battle
Despite his ongoing legal issues, Tiger Woods is making sure he is there for girlfriend Vanessa Trump as she battles cancer.
In an article published on Monday, June 15, a source told People that the professional golfer, 50, “has been amazing during Vanessa’s recent diagnosis,” which she revealed in May.
“Vanessa’s needs and issues have taken Tiger’s thoughts outside of his own legal, medical and personal struggles, which has been good for him,” the source added. “He has given her a lot of love — even while away working on himself. It shows he has character.”
On Saturday, June 13, Vanessa, 48, shared a post on Instagram explaining “over the past four weeks” she’s “been recovering from surgery,” noting she’s “healing and moving forward.”
“Soon, I’ll be starting the second stage of my treatment,” she added.
Another insider told the publication that the four-time PGA Championship winner and the mom of five — who shares kids Kai, 19, Donald, 17, Tristan, 14, Spencer, 13, and Chloe, 11, with ex-husband Donald Trump Jr. — “is optimistic about her treatments and in the coming months battling breast cancer.”
“Like anyone diagnosed with this disease, she is anxious but also strong and eager to move beyond,” the insider continued. “She is loved and receiving a great deal of support … With all of the advanced treatments and excellent healthcare facilities around her, Vanessa will continue to receive top-notch care.”
As Star previously reported, the athlete was charged with a DUI in March and pleaded not guilty to the charges against him, per People. In March, Woods also shared a social media post explaining he was going “to seek treatment and focus on my health.”
The World Golf Hall of Famer went to Switzerland for rehab and, at one point in May, flew back to Florida to be with Vanessa during her treatment, a source told People. Woods is back stateside as he was photographed in Florida on Friday, June 12, per the outlet.
According to Page Six, Woods will be in court again on Tuesday, July 7.
