Kansas City Chiefs Coach Andy Reid Gushes About Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift’s Engagement

Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid is giving his stamp of approval to the newly-engaged Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift.

“I’m happy for them. It’s hard to find somebody that you fall in love with,” the former Philadelphia Eagles coach, 67, told the media via a virtual press conference on Friday, August 29. “That’s not an easy thing, to really fall in love, and it seems like they’re there. I think it’s a great deal for both of them.”

“They like being around each other. That’s a plus, I think. They’re both busy people in their own right,” he continued. “Both are very famous in their own right. It’s kinda neat that they come together and handle themselves the way they do.”

This isn’t the first time the legendary football coach has chimed in on the Kansas City Chiefs tight end, 35, and the 35-year-old pop star’s relationship. In a September 2023 press conference, Reid joked that he set the couple up, but clarified his remarks on The Five Spot with Donovan McNabb in October 2023.

“I knew her from Philadelphia. You know, her dad is a big NFL fan,” Reid explained. “I had met her when she was real young and her dad, and, so you know, I joked about setting Kelce up. But, you know, but I’m just saying.”

Swift and Kelce also recently discussed Reid on The New Heights podcast earlier this month. The “Cruel Summer” singer said she got to know him first through her dad Scott.

“Andy’s been coming to shows for years and stuff like that,” she shared. “So I’ve always had, like, a really positive vibe about Andy Reid.”

As Star previously reported, the 14-time Grammy Award winner and the NFL star began dating in the summer of 2023 and announced their engagement in a joint Instagram post earlier this week.
