Justin Trudeau Is ‘Sowing His Oats’ With New Girlfriend Katy Perry: ‘A Bit of a Midlife Crisis’

Justin Trudeau’s hot-and-heavy new romance with Katy Perry could represent “a bit of a midlife crisis,” a source tells Page Six.

“Dating Katy may just be Justin’s answer to going to Burning Man,” a source told the outlet of the Canadian politician — who split from his wife of 18 years, Sophie Grégoire Trudeau, in 2023 and resigned from his job as prime minister in March — in a story published Wednesday, October 15.

Trudeau, 53, and the pop star, 40, first sparked relationship rumors in July.

Now that he’s “free from the ties of his office and his marriage,” the source told the outlet, “he is sowing his oats all over again.”

Another friend told Page Six that the father of three spent much of his 40s “straitjacketed with his duties,” so dating the “Firework” singer is a chance for “a big exhale.”

“I don’t think anyone that knows him is surprised that Justin would date someone famous,” added the first source, noting that his late father, former prime minister Pierre Trudeau, reportedly dated celebrities including Barbra Streisand and Kim Cattrall. “It’s in his DNA to do this.”
