The upcoming release of a biography about Gwyneth Paltrow’s life is putting some strain on her marriage to Brad Falchuk, according to a source.
Gwyneth: The Biography, written by Amy Odell — who also wrote a 2022 biography on Anna Wintour — explores the Oscar-winning actress’s past romances with A-listers Brad Pitt and Ben Affleck.
A source tells Star that the 52-year-old Goop founder “hates being out of control like this, knowing people are rolling their eyes and fixating over where things went wrong with Ben and Brad [Pitt].”
The source explains that the renewed chatter “stirs up some raw emotions and tension at home,” referring to the television writer, 54, who Paltrow wed in 2018.
“Brad [Falchuk] is convinced she misses that exciting stage of her life when she was an A-lister dating the hottest guys in Hollywood,” the source shares.

“He’s spent the entire marriage biting his lip when Gwyn goes into nostalgia mode, telling everyone how incredible her sex life was with other men is beyond emasculating, even if he does laugh it off publicly,” the source adds.
The source also explains that, with Paltrow’s past “being dredged up again,” Falchuk “can’t help but feel triggered.”
However, the Royal Tenenbaums actress is said to be “dismissing it all as harmless gossip”— which, according to the source, is only “making matters worse.”
Paltrow famously got engaged to Pitt, 61, in 1996, but the pair split in 1997. She was then in an on-again-off-again relationship with Affleck, 52, from 1997 to 2000.

In an excerpt obtained by Us Weekly, Odell details Paltrow’s alleged reaction to being asked by a reporter about Pitt marrying Jennifer Aniston during a September 2000 interview at the Toronto Film Festival premiere of Duets.
According to the outlet, the excerpt reads: “Are you really asking me this question?” Gwyneth replied, her eyes now “daggers.” “I can’t comment on this kind of thing.” In reality, Gwyneth confided to friends that she’d felt sad when she learned they were getting married. (She was also fond of telling them that Brad “has terrible taste in women.”)
Paltrow previously discussed her relationships with the two actors during a May 2023 interview on the Call Her Daddy podcast.
Host Alex Cooper asked the Shallow Hal star which of the two men was “better in bed,” to which she responded, “That is really hard because like Brad was like the sort of major chemistry love of your life — at the time. And then Ben was like technically excellent.”
Paltrow went on to marry Coldplay lead singer Chris Martin — with whom she shares children, Apple, 21, and Moses, 19 — in 2003, but the couple divorced in 2016.
