Seth Rogen and Pharrell Williams got into a bit of a heated exchange at a dinner party over an issue the singer had with the comedian’s comments about him in the press.
The moment was revealed during a sit-down between Rogen and his The Invite costar, Olivia Wilde, for Entertainment Weekly, which was published on Wednesday, July 1. The discussion between the duo, who star in the movie about a dinner party that goes off the rails, prompted the Knocked Up actor to recall his most awkward real-life dinner party moment.
It all stemmed from his role as Pumba the warthog in the live-action Disney remake of The Lion King. Rogen, 44, who isn’t known for his voice, was tasked with singing in the movie on a soundtrack for which Williams, 53, was a producer.

“There’s a lot,” Rogen revealed. “Once I was at a dinner and I had made the Lion King movie and I sing in the movie and I had been doing interviews and I’ve been talking about how Pharrell Williams got really frustrated with my singing.”
The comedian thought his comments were innocuous and honest, but when he met with Williams and others for a meal, the musician confronted him.
“He was like, ‘Hey, I don’t like how you suggest that I got frustrated with your singing.’ And I was like, ‘You did.’ And he’s like, ‘I don’t like you suggesting that… I feel frustration,’” Rogen explained.

Rogen continued, “And I’m like, ‘You’re feeling it right now. It’s happening at this dinner.”
Wilde, 43, suggested that Williams may have been justified in his desire not to appear like a frustrated person, given that his biggest musical hit is a song called “Happy.”
