Jodie Turner-Smith is opening up about one of the biggest parenting challenges she’s faced since her divorce from ex-husband Joshua Jackson.
“I’m a child of divorce, myself, and so is my ex-husband,” Turner-Smith, 39, told Hoda Kotb during the Monday, June 29, episode of the Joy 101 podcast. “It’s always been important to think about what is the language around which we are going to talk about this with our daughter because this is her new reality.”
The model — who shares 6-year-old Juno with the Dawson’s Creek star — reflected on helping her daughter adjust to life post-divorce.
“We’re learning as well and not always getting it totally right, but the idea is always two homes filled with love. I’m like, ‘You got two houses, girl,'” Turner-Smith continued.

Turner-Smith and Jackson were first linked in 2018. Their relationship progressed quickly and they were married the following year. Turner-Smith gave birth to Juno in April 2020. Unfortunately, their marriage would not last and the Anne Boleynactress filed for divorce in October 2023.
“My daughter was quite young when I split with her dad and, so it’s like it’s always, for me less difficult what she’s experiencing from other people and more difficult just navigating the conversation with her,” she continued. “It’s like you got to walk this line between obviously being age appropriate and child-centered in the way that you talk about it, but also keeping it real so that she has an understanding of what this means.”
