Eva Mendes ‘Calls the Shots’ in Ryan Gosling Relationship, Actor Has No Choice But ‘to Play Along’ (Exclusive)

Eva Mendes and Ryan Gosling’s home life allegedly isn’t the happiest right now.

According to a source, the Skura Style founder, 51, has been testing the patience of the Fall Guy star, 45, with her next-level micro-managing.

“Eva is the decision maker on everything,” reveals the source. “She calls the shots and Ryan doesn’t have any choice but to play along!”

After connecting on the set of 2012’s The Place Beyond the Pines, the costars-turned-lovers welcomed daughters Esmeralda, 11, and Amada, 9.

“Eva is the CEO of the family,” notes the source. “She acts like it, too.”

During a 2024 interview with Today, the Hitch alum spoke about stepping back from Hollywood to become a full-time mom.

“Acting takes you on locations, it takes you away,” Mendes said on the NBC series, noting that there was a “non-verbal agreement” with Gosling that she and the girls would travel with him as he continued his film career.

The actor’s two latest movies, Project Hail Mary and Star Wars: Starfighter, were shot in England, as was his 2023 megahit Barbie.

“Ryan is the cash cow,” spills the source. “Since the success of Barbie, he’s been working nonstop — which has meant relinquishing day-to-day control of the family and their whole domestic routine to Eva. He just doesn’t have a lot of say in anything outside of his career.”

On Wednesday, December 17, the Notebook hunk was spotted looking sullen during a family outing with Mendes and their kids in Montecito, California, per photos obtained by Page Six.

“Eva is running Ryan ragged,” insists the source. “She’s become a control freak!”
