Christian TV Network Founder Joni Lamb Dead at 65 After ‘Back Injury’ and ‘Serious Health Matters’
Joni Lamb, the cofounder and president of Christian television network Daystar Television Network, has died. She was 65.
The network confirmed the news of her death on Thursday, May 7, with a statement shared to its website.
“Prior to her recent back injury, Lamb had been dealing with serious health matters that she chose to face head on and in private,” the statement said. “The back injury compounded those challenges and led to a more serious medical situation than anyone had anticipated.”
“Despite the dedicated efforts of her medical team and the prayers of so many around the world, her condition worsened in the last few days,” the statement added.
Lamb, who founded the network alongside her late husband Marcus Lamb in 1993, was remarried in 2023 to Dr. Doug Weiss.
“Joni’s love for the Lord and for the people we serve shaped this ministry from the beginning,” said the Daystar Board of Directors in a statement. “We grieve her loss, and we are grateful for the legacy of faith she leaves behind.”
Her program Joni Table Talk tackled “tough, relevant topics to reveal Godly solutions for today’s complex problems.”
She also cohosted the network’s daily broadcast Ministry Now alongside her husband, Dr. Weiss.
