Chuck Potthast, the father of 90 Day Fiancé star Elizabeth Castravet, has died following a long battle with brain cancer.
“Two weeks ago, tragedy struck our family and it has left us completely shattered. My sweet, loving, and caring dad went to heaven,” Castravet wrote on Instagram on Sunday, November 23. “We’re trying to figure out how to navigate our lives and move forward without him.”
Potthast was 64.

Castravet joined the TLC show in 2017, alongside her husband, Andrei, and her father soon became a beloved star on the main show as well as the spinoffs, 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? and 90 Day Diaries.
Potthast, an avid boater who lived in Tampa, Florida, revealed his cancer diagnosis on 90 Day Diaries in 2022.
In September, he underwent an eight-hour surgery to repair a hernia which had resulted from previous cancer operations.
“I wanted to thank everyone for their prayers and support,” he said in a video from his hospital bed.
He is survived by seven children and multiple grandchildren.
