Aaron Phypers accused soon-to-be ex-wife Denise Richards of having an affair with Rudy Reyes, one of the instructors she met while competing on season 2 of Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test.
The businessman, 49, called the alleged romance a “painful truth” that he’d “wrestled with” in recent weeks, according to a letter shared by DailyMail.com.
“She begged me not to leave, saying it was nothing and that she only loved me,” he continued. “Then, she denied it all — even the explicit messages I found. Despite her promise to stop, more lies and shocking evidence emerged.”
Phypers, 49, additionally told the outlet that he’d found more than 100 text messages between his wife and Reyes, including sexual photos and videos, and conversations that involved them making plans to meet up. He reportedly confronted her about the alleged affair on the Fourth of July.

“I just had this feeling that something was off because her behavior had changed – she was being kind of cool to me,” he said in an interview published by Daily Mail on Friday, July 25.
While he claimed Richards initially offered to work through things and allowed him to see her phone, he later discovered that she had a second number.
“It kills me,” he shared. “She’s been setting up times to meet him out of town while creating fights with me.”
Since the discovery, Phypers confessed he’s felt “brokenhearted.”
“We’ve been together nine years and for her to do that and to lie to me consistently – I’m totally tired and drained,” he said.
Aside from her alleged extramarital relationship, he also claimed the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum had developed a “real problem” with Vicodin that had him “really concerned.”
“She mixes it too with booze and she stays up all night,” he alleged. “She’s there on her computer and taking stuff, then she hides the bottles. She buys them in bottles of 500 pills. I don’t know where she gets them from, but she always has them.”

As Star previously reported, Phypers filed for divorce on July 7, citing the reason for their split as “irreconcilable differences.”
Less than two weeks later, Richards accused Phypers of domestic abuse in a July 16 filing to the Los Angeles County Superior Court. Among the long list of acts of violence Richards described were choking, squeezing her arms, slapping her in the “face and head,” slamming her head “into the bathroom towel rack” and allegedly threatening her life.
“Aaron owns at least eight unregistered guns and multiple bullet proof vests,” she continued. “As with nearly all of Aaron’s abuse of me, I was afraid that Aaron may kill me. I am 5’4” and Aaron is 6’2” and weighs more than 200 pounds.”
The Wild Things star – mom to daughters Sami, 21, Lola, 20, and Eloise, 14 – was granted a temporary restraining order.
