“This is painful and it will be for a long time,” Hillary Clinton said during her concession speech she made on Nov. 9 at the Grand Ballroom of the New Yorker hotel. “I’m sorry we did not win this election.”
The defeated Democratic nominee decided to cancel her event at the Javits Center in New York City on Nov. 8 after poll drama dragged out into the middle of the night. Her campaign manager John Podesta took the stage after 2 a.m. ET to tell their supporters to go home and get some rest as it seemed the poll numbers weren’t going to be determined for some states until possibly later Wednesday morning.
But shortly after 3 a.m. ET, Republican nominee Donald Trump raked in the last electoral votes to win the President of the United States.
