Nigel Barker won the hearts of fashion lovers and normals alike during his 17 cycles as a judge on America’s Next Top Model. But now that the show is coming back with an all-new panel, does the world-renowned photographer think the reality series has what it takes to make the cut?
Star spoke exclusively with Nigel at Vivienne Tam’s Spring/Summer ’17 show at New York Fashion Week where he shared his thoughts on the ANTM reboot, which is set to be hosted by Rita Ora, and executive produced by Tyra Banks. “You know, I did 17 seasons with that show, and here we are on their [23rd] season, so God bless them,” he said.
Although the panel has none of his era’s familiar faces, he seemed confident that the new judges, including Sports Illustrated model Ashley Graham, are more than capable of carrying on the show’s legacy, insisting, “I think it’s a show that will last forever.”
When ANTM returns in the fall, it will have a new network, VH1, and perhaps, a new generation of fans.
