The Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin’s outdoorsy daughter Bindi is swapping snakes for sequins as she joins the new cast of Dancing with the Stars!
“Bindi has ambitions for a career in Hollywood,” notes the source. “She’d love to have her own conservation-themed reality show and knows DWTS will get her name out there!”
The 17-year-old also wants to bring awareness to her late father’s environmental causes and carry on his legacy. “Embarking on this journey, I really want to make [my dad] as proud as possible,” the teen shared. “I have so many amazing memories of my dad. One that stands out is the first time he let me jump on the head of a crocodile, when I was only 8!”
The Australian media personality eulogized her father in 2006 when she was only 8. Since then, the rising star at one point wanted to start tackling bigger issues in our world today—like human overpopulation and the nonconsumptive use of wildlife—but it sounds like Bindi will be lacing up her dancing shoes any day now!
