Taylor Swift said goodbye to California in “Style” on August 26, with a star-studded performance that wowed the crowd at the Staples Center so thoroughly, they could not “Shake It Off”.
The “Bad Blood” singer has been known for bringing an endless parade of her famous besties onstage during her 1989 World Tour, but last night she definitely set the bar at stratosphere level, when Justin Timberlake joined her for a duet of “Mirrors”.
Taylor took to Instagram to share a snippet of their magical moment, expressing her awe and gratitude to the 34-year-old “Strawberry Bubblegum” singer for sharing the stage with her, in his first performance since the birth of his son Silas back in April:
“I have no way to deal with this. Justin Timberlake is the BEST”.
But JT wasn’t the only crowd pleasing surprise. BFF Selena Gomez, 23, graced the stage as well, and the pair belted out her hit single “Good For You”, with Taylor rocking a white bustier and shorts, while Selena stunned in a black blinged-out, low-cut romper. Both girls killed in black thigh-high boots.
Possibly the most unexpected treat of the night, came in the form of Lisa Kudrow, better known as Phoebe Buffay of Friends. The unlikely pair launched into a rendition of “Smelly Cat”, a funny ode to a stinky cat that the sweet and spacey character was famous for, on the long-running hit comedy TV show.
Last night marked Taylor’s 9th and final show at the Staples Center, on this wildly successful whirlwind tour. On August 22, Kobe Bryant presented the leggy entertainer with a special banner to commemorate her 16th sold-out show at the renowned LA venue, setting the record for “Most Sold Out Performances” by a single artist at the Staples Center—ever!
