Even with the Grammy Awards airing Sunday night — the Housewives must go on! And in the latest installment of The Real Housewives of New Jersey, there was no shortage of drama and girl fights.
On Sunday’s episode, Kenya Moore, ready to jump back into her acting career, meets with bemused producer Roger Bobb to discuss several show ideas, one pitch being about a mean girl named NoNo, who’s a cross-dressing stripper. The meeting doesn’t go so well for Kenya, though, when Roger informs the attention-loving former model that he’s working on sitcoms in Los Angeles and won’t have time to be heavily-involved in her projects. Sorry, Kenya!
And while Phaedra Parks visits a therapist to discuss how to tell her children that their father, Apollo Nida, is going to prison, her selfish husband visits his lawyer to — what else? — blame everyone else for his problems and not take responsibility. Apollo wants to know why his wife has reservations about taking their children to visit him in prison, and eventually, the therapist tell an unconvinced Phaedra to allow the children to see and continue a relationship with their dad.
Meanwhile, Kandi Burruss is trying to pick up the pieces in her household after hearing news that her play, A Mother’s Love, had to be shut down because the promoter overextended himself with the budget. Kandi even sheds some tears, and her unsympathetic husband, Todd Tucker, chastised her for not doing her homework about the promoter. Later, when Kandi breaks the news to her staff at The Kandi Factory, they react no better than Todd, using her misfortune to make jokes about Todd’s small stature and even going so far as jokingly accusing him of “scheming” to have the play closed.
At the same time, Claudia Jordan’s haterade is in full effect, as she gossips about how Porsha Williams got her Rolls Royce for free — but that didn’t stop her from showing up to Porsha’s work party! Claudia uses the opportunity to pull Porsha aside and congratulate her, but the conversation eventually got heated, and Claudia is was left whining to herself.
The drama isn’t over there, though — later, Phaedra has her mother over for some sweet tea, and confides in her about Apollo’s scary and threatening behavior. Since Apollo was accused was accused of threatening to burn the house down, and had even punched holes in the walls of their home, Phaedra’s mom asks her daughter to take the kids and leave. Never a dull moment in Atlanta!
Up next week? With not enough to do before heading to prison, Apollo accuses Phaedra of having an affair!
