Watch out, Britney Spears — a new diva is coming to Vegas! Mariah Carey made a big announcement while on The Ellen DeGeneres Show this week, when she told fans that she’ll be starting a residency in Sin City.
“I’m going to be doing my very first residency in Vegas…at Caesars!” she gushed to the talk show host. “This is a special event for me, and again, I have to hope that the fans enjoy this. This is kind of inspired by my album Number 1s. This is kind of the updated version. It’s 18 songs, so I’ve never done this before. I’ve never performed this many songs before.”
The singer’s string of shows will begin May 16 at Caesar’s Palace. Meanwhile, Britney is in the middle of her residency, which began last December at Planet Hollywood, and will last until the end of this year.
Mariah fans can expect to hear hits like “We Belong Together,” “Hero,” “Don’t Forget About Us” and many more when she hits the stage this spring.
