Things are going great for Liam Hemsworth these days! Although he and Miley Cyrus announced their split in September, the actor was immediately able to throw himself into work as press started for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, and from the looks of it, the movie is already shaping up to be a success.
“These days I feel like I’m more centered and grounded than I’ve ever been,” he admitted.
Liam stepped onto the Hollywood scene (he’s an Australia native) in 2010, starring in The Last Song with his ex-fiance, but now, he finally feels established. “I’ve learned so much,” he said. “The first few years in L.A. were really tough and scary, but I had to figure things out for myself.”
Part of that, of course, was his highly-publicized relationship with the former Disney star. Before their breakup, the couple faced severe media scrutiny, including reports of cheating. “What I always keep in mind is that I know what the truth is and that’s all that matters,” he explained. “I know I’m a good person.”
Luckily, the 23-year-old found a great friend and support system in his Catching Fire costar, Jennifer Lawrence. “For a few years, I went down a path where I forgot to be in the moment and enjoy the moment,” he revealed. “But being around someone like Jen, who is so honest and laughs all day long, I am forced to be in the right now.”
He concluded by adding, “I’m much happier.”
In case you’re keeping track, Miley had similar things to say regarding her newly single life. In fact, she considers in the “happiest she’s ever been.”
