More than 30 years ago, Tom Cruise and Val Kilmer clashed on- and offscreen while filming Top Gun, and now that there’s a sequel in the works, sources say Tom has turned a deaf ear to Val’s pleas to return as the iconic character Iceman. Val, who’s been battling cancer, “is putting up a good front, but he’s not in great shape,” says an insider. “It’s his dream to do this one last big movie. But he was arrogant and mean to Tom back in the day, so Tom is ignoring all his calls and public shout-outs. It’s a shame, because fans would love to see Iceman and Maverick together again.”
