Vanessa Hudgens, who just gave birth to her second child with hubby Cole Tucker — 17 months after welcoming her first — is prioritizing motherhood, with her career a distant second.
A source says the High School Musical star, 36, “isn’t retiring exactly, but she’s determined not to have her children be raised by hired help. Her focus is on building this family, not juggling a bunch of Hollywood opportunities.”

The source adds that Vanessa, 36, and Cole, 29, who retired from his baseball career in May, “are synced up on this. They want a lot of kids, and Vanessa’s managing to be hands-on with the sleepless nights and doctor’s visits.”
Some of those in the actress’ inner circle are finding her Hollywood halt “a bit stressful, after helping her build a career and professional reputation since she was a young girl,” notes the source. But Vanessa is secure in her new direction: “She’s the happiest she’s ever been.”
