Travis Kelce Proposed to Taylor Swift After They Recorded ‘New Heights’ Podcast — ‘Timing Was Right’
Travis Kelce wasted no time on the day of his proposal to Taylor Swift.
According to Page Six, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end, 35, popped the question on the same day he and Swift, 35, recorded the New Heights podcast with Jason Kelce.
A source told the outlet the NFL star had a crew transforming the backyard while he and the pop star, also 35, were busy podcasting.
“He knew that he wanted to marry her. [The date] was just a matter of when the timing was right,” the insider explained. “It was less about the significance of the time and [more about] when he could actually do it in between her tour and his season.”
The source told the outlet that the Super Bowl champion also wanted the 14-time Grammy Award winner, 35, to “already be in hair and makeup.”
The couple, who began dating in the Summer of 2023, announced their engagement on Tuesday, August 26, via a joint Instagram post.
“Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married 🧨,” they wrote in the caption.
As Star previously reported, Travis’ dad, Ed Kelce, told News 5 that day his son had asked Swift to marry him at his home in Missouri, and that the proposal took place almost two weeks ago.
