Taylor Swift dealt with a terrifying situation during The Eras Tour.
In episode one of her new docuseries, The End of an Era, the singer-songwriter, 35, got emotional as she discussed how she had to cancel her three concerts in Vienna, Austria, in August 2024 over a terrorist plot, ahead of finishing up the European run of the record-breaking tour.
“I thought this would be a tour I would be proud of. It’s like a force to be reckoned with in global culture,” she remarked. “So, never in my life did I think we would have a terrorist plot.”
“It’s just kind of a weird feeling going into these last five shows in Europe because it sort of feels like we’ve done like 128 shows so far, but this was the first one I feel like – I don’t know – I’m skating on thin ice or something,” she told cameras. “We’ve had a series of very violent, scary things happen to the tour. Like, we dodged a massacre situation, and so I’ve just been kind of all over the place.”

The “So Highschool” hitmaker then became emotional over the “horrible attack in Liverpool at a Taylor Swift-themed dance party,” that took place in July 2024.
The 14-time Grammy Award winner also shared that the terrorist scare had made her fearful for her fans’ safety.
“I’ve been performing for 20 years. From a mental standpoint, being afraid something’s going to happen to your fans at any moment — this is a new challenge,” she admitted.
“I want to keep all the nerves I have away from the crowd because when you’re sort of the ringleader of this show, they can sense any kind of shift energetically in you, and you have to really focus and factor that in that ‘you’re at the Eras Tour, nothing’s wrong!'” she added.

A week later, ahead of her first concert after the incident, the “Cruel Summer” singer spoke to her mom, Andrea Swift, in her dressing room.
“I’m trying to calm down. I’m having a very physical reaction to my nerves,” she admitted. “My hands are shaky.”
The musician also sat down with Ed Sheeran — who took the stage with her that night — explaining, “I just need to do this show, remember the joy of it.”
Thankfully, Taylor successfully wrapped up her European leg of the tour with five shows at Wembley Stadium in England.
