Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s Engagement Tied to Her Lucky Number 13

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce announced their engagement on Tuesday, August 26, and the pop star’s favorite number, 13, might have played a part in the timing.

Swift and Kelce, both 35, revealed that he had officially popped the question 13 days after her record-breaking appearance on New Heights. That same day, Guinness World Records announced that Swift had set a new milestone for the most concurrent viewers ever for a podcast premiere on YouTube, thanks to her August 13 episode with Kelce.

“With a total of 1.3 million, it pulled in the most concurrent views for a podcast on YouTube on 13 August,” the official Guinness World Records site stated, and by the time of publication, the episode had been viewed over 20 million times.

The NFL star and Swift began dating in the summer of 2023 after he called her out on an episode of his and his older brother Jason Kelce’s podcast. Kelce had shown up to Swift’s Eras Tour concert at Arrowhead Stadium in July 2023 and had made a friendship bracelet with his phone number on it.

Unfortunately, the Miss Americana star had a strict rule about speaking before and after her performances so he wasn’t able to give her his gift, but he later called her out on New Heights, and his tactic worked.

The two went public with their relationship in September 2023, and it’s been a whirlwind ever since. Kelce attended several of Swift’s shows and she has become a regular at his NFL games, and their fans have been waiting for them to take their relationship to the next level.
