Sarah Jessica Parker isn’t ruling out a return to Sex and the City — if the right project comes along.
Speaking to Variety at the Golden Eve gala in Beverly Hills on Tuesday January 6, Parker confirmed she’s up for reprising her character Carrie Bradshaw, but only working with creator Michael Patrick King.
Parker said: “I hear lots of very original ideas, all lovely and well intentioned and often very clever, but the only thing that really matters is what excites Michael Patrick King. And right now he’s just not thinking about that.”

The 60-year-old was at the Gala to be honored with the Carol Burnett Award. She was joined by Sex and the City costars Kristen Davis, Evan Handler and David Eigenberg at the event.
The sequel to the series called And Just Like That… came to an end after three seasons in 2025.
Parker, who is thought to be looking for new roles at the moment, also offered an update on the third instalment of the Hocus Pocus movie franchise.
She confirmed Bette Midler and the rest of the cast are still “working” on a third film, and she joked the 80-year-old is like an excited teenager when it comes to the project.
She added: “They’re working on it. Where Bette goes, I go. Bette is like a 13-year-old girl with a new bike. She’s like, ‘I have wheels, let us travel.’ ”

In October, Midler teased the script for Hocus Pocus 3 is “brilliant”.
Speaking on Watch What Happens Live in October she said: “Well, you know, they sent a script, and a lot of it was brilliant. So I got very excited. And now we’re trying to figure out what it is and where it’s going to be and how much it’s going to cost and all those logistical things.”
Midler, Parker and Kathy Najimy first appeared on the big screen as the Sanderson sisters in 1993, a trio of witches who were resurrected on a Halloween night.
