Sarah Jessica Parker Being Considered to Take on a Role in Upcoming ‘Harry Potter’ Reboot
Hocus pocus… Hogwarts? With And Just Like That… abruptly canceled, sources tell Star Sarah Jessica Parker is being considered for another HBO Max series, the new Harry Potter reboot about the boy wizard.
“It’s HBO’s major undertaking right now, and Sarah Jessica is a closet Harry Potter expert when it comes to the books and the films,” explains an insider, adding that the 60-year-old raised her three kids with husband Matthew Broderick on the series by J.K. Rowling.
“She’d kill to continue her decades-long relationship with HBO by appearing on the series in a major way.” With a planned 10 seasons — and many parts still not cast — says the insider, “Everybody’s taking a closer look at how to make that happen.”
Joining the world of wizarding wouldn’t be too much of a stretch for the actress, who played daffy witch Sarah Sanderson in two Hocus Pocus movies.
“She knows exactly how to work in this milieu,” says the insider, pointing out that she’d be a “great fit” to play Hogwarts instructors such as Delores Embridge or Sybill Telaway. “She’d love a chance to go toe-to-toe with Harry, Ron and Hermione.”
