Prince Harry is fuming over a new royal biography that claims Queen Camilla told a friend that he’d been “brainwashed” by wife Meghan Markle.
“He’s willing to let a lot of stuff slide and generally doesn’t like to give oxygen to his critics,” a source tells Star. “But this notion that he’s Meghan’s personal poodle has really shaken Harry and stirred up old wounds that really sting.”
A spokesperson for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex issued a scathing statement to People in response to Tom Bower’s book Betrayal: Power, Deceit And the Fight For the Future of the Royal Family that read in part: “Those interested in facts will look elsewhere; those seeking deranged conspiracy and melodrama know exactly where to find him.”
However, “there’s not a shred of doubt in his mind that Camilla’s the main troublemaker,” reveals the source. “She made life extremely difficult for himself and Meghan when they were still in England and still bashes them to this day — this book is clear evidence of that, in his view.”

In his 2023 memoir Spare, Harry revealed that he and Prince William urged their father King Charles III not to marry Camilla, 78. “I had mixed feelings about gaining a stepparent who I thought had recently sacrificed me on her personal PR altar,” he wrote, per People.
Harry even went as far as to call Camilla “dangerous,” later explaining in a 60 Minutes interview that it was “the need for her to rehabilitate her image” and “the connections she was forging within the British press” ahead of her 2005 wedding to Charles, 77, that made her so.
“Harry wants to know who else is joining in and spreading these rumors,” Star’s source continues. “He’s on the warpath and asking everyone he knows whom else may have contributed to [Bower’s] book and enabled Camilla with her smear campaign.”
It’s not just about his ego either, notes the source “Harry’s also convinced these people are blocking a path to peace with his father — and with that, the chance to bring his children to England. That’s why it cuts so deep and he’s determined to put a stop to it.”
