The Duke of Sussex, 41, has reached out to his estranged brother, 44, with an olive branch that he’s hoping and praying will finally spell the end of the seven-year rift, according to the source.
“Harry has been throwing out these little hints here and there to make sure it’s known that he’s not carrying any sort of grudge towards William anymore, but he’s doing a heck of a lot more than that behind the scenes,” reveals the insider. “He’s asked his father [King Charles III] and various aides to let William know that he’s ready to sit down to talk anytime he chooses.”
Harry still has no contact with William, per People, despite being spotted just 12 miles apart during his recent trip to the U.K.
“If he had any chance of reaching William, he’d just call him up directly but he’d never get through, so he’s having to resort to this roundabout way,” the insider explains.

Harry’s hope of reconciling with William isn’t just about healing old wounds.
“As much as this is about him wanting to mend things from an emotional standpoint, there’s no way to ignore the fact that getting back into William’s good graces is important from a business perspective too,” admits the insider.
As Star previously reported, a source says Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, have dealt with “one disaster or disappointment after another” since starting over in the United States in 2020.
“If this feud is still raging when William takes the throne, it will have very real consequences on his title which will inevitably affect his and Meghan’s bottom line,” notes the insider. “So the time to make this happen is now, before William is totally in charge, and while Charles is still around to help broker some sort of peace deal.”
