If ever there were a case of love at first sight, it was the blind date that Kaley Cuoco, 29, and Ryan Sweeting, 28, enjoyed back in the summer of 2013. “Dinner was great, and then he moved in the next day!” confessed the Big Bang Theory actress, who wed her pro tennis player beau a short six months later. Sadly, the union that came together in a heartbeat has now dissolved just as quickly, with the couple splitting after 21 months of marriage and wiping their social media pages clean of each other.

But much of Ryan and Kaley's troubled centered around the fact that Ryan's career was flagging, in part because of injuries and back surgery he had in 2014, and Kaley's was skyrocketing—making $1 million per episode on her sitcom.

"He never felt it was 'their' money," says the insider. "They fought over finances all the time, which is ridiculous because they never needed to worry about cash flow. If they'd been together longer before they married, there might have been more trust there, and they wouldn't have let money come between them."

But their money woes weren't the only thing that tore this pair apart. "Kaley said she could never see herself having children while working on the show," says the source. "She didn't want a pregnancy written into the script, and she didn't want to take maternity leave. She just wanted to focus on what was in front of her career-wise. She always said that babies could wait."

And Kaley's attitude toward her success is fairly complicated, according to the insider. "She's never been comfortable with her level of fame and actually longs for a simpler life," the source says. "At the same time, she and her team have a hard-nosed approach to business, which has made her so financially successful. She feels like she would be letting down too many people—including herself—if she ever walked away from the show."
