In a 2009 episode of what was then 18 Kids and Counting, Jim Bob's older sister Deanna Duggar, 52, admitted that she and her husband, Terry Jordan, 53, had their daughter, aspiring country singer Amy Duggar, 28, out of wedlock. "Terry and I knew each other a long time ago, and I got pregnant with Amy. And so, we dated each other on and off for quite some time," Deanna revealed. "Then we finally decided, 'You know what, we need to get married!' So we got married [in 2006], and we've been together three years."

But on July 24, 1992, according to Washington County (Ark.) Chancert Court documents obtained by Star, Deanna asked for an order of protection against then boyfriend Terry, alleging he had threatened her two days earlier at work.

"He said he was going to kick my ass if I didn't allow him to see Amy," Deanna claimed. Her petition included another, far more disturbing allegation: Deanna wrote that, on Sept. 30, 1986—the day their daughter was born—"I had just delivered Amy. Terry came into the hospital room and [said] I should kill you and the baby."

In October 1986, the Duggars—(clockwise from top left) Michelle, Jim Bob, Deanna, mom Mary and dad Jimmy Lee (who passed away in 2009)—posed for a family portriat to celebrate the birth of Deanna's daughter, Amy, the previous month. Missing from the photo: Deanna's boyfriend, Terry Jordan, the father of little Amy. (Pick up Star's issue on newsstands now until June 8 to see the court documents from Washington County, Arkansas, that explain Terry's absence at the time.)

"I've never heard any of the Duggars talk about this frightening episode," a family insider tells Star. "It appears Deanna and Terry may have talked things out after she went to court, but she thought that someone would be driven to such rage that they would have supposedly threatened the lives of their own newborn child and girlfriend—in the hospital, no less!—is beyond human comprehension."

But Star uncovered that Terry's alleged explosion may be due to Deanna claiming that Terry "had [no] paternal [rights]" to see 5-year-old Amy.

And his alleged ravings in the hospital could certainly be construed as someone driven to blind rage and humiliation over the thought that the baby wasn't his. It's also noteworthy that Deanna listed Amy's last name as Duggar—not Jordan—in the court papers."
