The 10th annual Denis Leary Firefighter Challenge brought out some of the biggest names in Hollywood to The Rock, a FDNY training facility located on Randall’s Island.
Civilians and celebrity participants (including Pete Davidson) underwent emergency training to raise money for the Rescue Me actor’s Leary Firefighters Foundation, rushing into burning buildings and searching for survivors.

“It’s for them to experience what it’s like to be a firefighter and get a sense of what it takes to do the job,” Denis, 68 — who started the foundation in 2000 after a devastating fire in Worcester, Mass., took the lives of his cousin and childhood friend — explained in a video online. “In the middle of all of that is us raising a ton of money for fire departments across the country, so it’s just a great day.”
