Orlando Bloom Breaks Silence on Katy Perry Split: ‘We’re Going to Be Great. Nothing But Love’

Orlando Bloom is speaking out for the first time about his split from Katy Perry.

The actor stayed positive while promoting his new movie The Cut during a Friday, September 5 appearance on the Today show.

When host Craig Melvin asked about the breakup, Bloom replied, “I’m great, man. I’m so grateful. We have the most beautiful daughter. You know when you leave everything on the field like I did in this movie? I feel grateful for all of it.” He added, “We’re great. We’re going to be great. Nothing but love.”

Bloom, 48, shares 5-year-old daughter Daisy with Perry, 40. The former couple confirmed their split in June after nearly a decade together, revealing in a statement via their reps that they had been “shifting their relationship” to focus on co-parenting. “They will continue to be seen together as a family, as their shared priority is — and always will be — raising their daughter with love, stability and mutual respect,” their reps said at the time.

Miranda Kerr, who was married to Bloom from 2010 to 2013, recently praised the pair’s amicable approach on The Kyle and Jackie O Show. “Especially when you have children, it shouldn’t be any other way,” Kerr said, calling Perry “amazing” and describing them as “one big, happy family.”

Bloom has been keeping busy since the split. He recently attended Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez’s wedding in Venice, where he was spotted partying with friends, including Tom Brady, and even shared a friendly air kiss with Kim Kardashian, according to pictures obtained by Page Six.

Bloom met Perry in 2016 at a Golden Globes afterparty. They got engaged on Valentine’s Day 2019 but never married.
