Neve Campbell is finally setting the record straight about her long-rumored “date” with Prince Harry — and according to her, it wasn’t a date at all.
The Scream 7 star, 52, opened up about the encounter during her Sunday, February 14 appearance on The Jonathan Ross Show, explaining she met the royal years ago at a friend’s costume party.
“It wasn’t a date,” Campbell said. “I went to a friend’s birthday party and someone said, ‘There’s Harry!’ and I was like, ‘Harry who?’ ‘Prince Harry.’”
Campbell — who shares sons Caspian, 13, and Raynor, 8, with partner JJ Feild — said the two chatted easily. She recalled Harry, now 41, telling her he had a poster of her when he was younger.

“I thought, ‘That’s a little awkward. How old?’” she joked, adding, “I don’t know if that was a line, though. It could’ve been a line.”
Despite fan speculation over the years, the actress emphasized the moment was brief and friendly. “We had a dance,” she said. “We had a nice time. We didn’t exchange numbers or anything.”
She added that Harry was “really lovely” and even spoke about his grandmother — a moment she described as “very odd” once she realized he meant Queen Elizabeth II.
