Miley Cyrus Is Not Looking for ‘Marriage’ or ‘Family’ With Boyfriend Maxx Morando (Exclusive)

Miley Cyrus is content in her relationship with Maxx Morando — and has no interest in shaking things up, according to a source.

“Miley is not at a crossroads in her relationship with Maxx, she’s exactly where she wants to be and is not pegging a bunch of ridiculous expectations on this relationship,” the source exclusively tells Star.

The source explains that the 32-year-old singer “learned an important lesson about relying on herself, not her partner,” following her 2020 divorce from Liam Hemsworth.

The source notes that Morando, 26, who began dating the former Disney star in 2021, must “go along with the tempo Miley needs in this relationship.”

“This relationship is already where Miley wants it to be, and she isn’t pushing for marriage or family with Maxx,” the source shares.

“She likes things the way they are,” the source continues. “Kids and domestic life are less appealing to Miley than the peace of mind that she’s fought to achieve during the years since the pandemic.”

In June, the “Flowers” hitmaker appeared on the Sorry We’re Cyrus podcast hosted by her sister Brandi Cyrus and mom Tish Cyrus. The three women all discussed how they are “cougars” in their relationships.

“I’m so excited for him [Morando] to turn 27 ‘cause that was such a great year for me,” Miley confessed. “I’m just hoping that, as long as he follows in my footsteps, everything is going to be great. That’s right when I started turning my life around.”

Miley also shared insight into her relationship with the musician in an interview with Harper’s Bazaar published in November 2024, telling the outlet, “He’s very similar to me. We just don’t take life too seriously.”

In the interview, Miley addressed the age gap between her and the former The Regrettes band member.

“He looks at life really differently than I do. He grew up with a laptop,” she explained. “I had a desktop computer that I shared with my brothers and sisters.”

“Honestly, he’s raised our dog off Reddit. I’m like, ‘Are you sure we’re supposed to be doing this?’” she admitted. “And he’s like, ‘On Reddit it says blah, blah, blah.’”

The Grammy winner said that she enjoys collaborating with Morando in a professional sense as well — he worked on her latest album, Something Beautiful, which was released in May.

“I worked with my dad forever. That’s how me and my ex-husband met each other,” she told the publication. “I’ve always worked with the people that I love. And Maxx just inspires me so much.”
