Miley Cyrus Playfully Shades Ex Liam Hemsworth While Signing Autographs for Fans
Miley Cyrus recently threw some subtle shade at ex-husband Liam Hemsworth.
On Wednesday, June 4, a fan named Liam attended the pop star’s album signing event in New York City for her new record, Something Beautiful. He later took to X (formerly Twitter) to share that the “Flowers” hitmaker, 32, had signed his vinyl copy with a playful message that read, “The Best Liam.”
He also posted a photo of him and Cyrus after she signed his vinyl, captioning it, “Me when I’m the best Liam.”

Cyrus and Hemsworth, 35, met while filming the movie The Last Song in 2009 and had an on-again-off-again relationship for years. The couple tied the knot at the end of 2018 after losing their Malibu home in a wildfire. However, they eventually split in 2019 and officially divorced in 2020.
Cyrus opened up about the end of her marriage in a TikTok video in September 2023.
“The day of the [Glastonbury] show was the day I had decided it was no longer going to work in my life to be in that relationship,” she explained, referencing her June 2019 performance at the Glastonbury Festival in the UK.
“So Glastonbury was in June, which was when the decision had been made that me and Liam’s commitment to be married just really came from — a place of love first, because we’ve been together for 10 years — but also from a place of trauma and just trying to rebuild as quickly as we could,” she admitted.
After her divorce, Cyrus began a relationship with musician Maxx Morando in 2021, and the two have been going strong ever since.
Cyrus spoke to Harper’s Bazaar in November 2024 about Morando, 26, telling the outlet, “He’s very similar to me. We just don’t take life too seriously.”
She also addressed the age gap between them. “He looks at life really differently than I do,” she told the publication. “He grew up with a laptop. I had a desktop computer that I shared with my brothers and sisters. … Honestly, he’s raised our dog off Reddit. I’m like, ‘Are you sure we’re supposed to be doing this?’ And he’s like, ‘On Reddit it says blah, blah, blah.’”
Cyrus added that she enjoys her professional relationship with Morando just as much as their personal one. (The couple collaborated on her latest album.)
“I worked with my dad forever. That’s how me and my ex-husband met each other,” she remarked. “I’ve always worked with the people that I love. And Maxx just inspires me so much.”
